This degree is designed for transfer to the Criminal Justice bachelor's degree at Northern Arizona University (NAU) and Arizona State University (ASU). The program provides students with knowledge and skills which can be used to enter a wide variety of law enforcement and corrections positions. 学生 completing this degree will transfer a minimum of 60 credits to NAU or ASU. 学生 planning to transfer to a university other than NAU or ASU should see an advisor. This degree results in an AGEC-A, which is transferable to all Arizona public universities.

Upon completion of the program, students will:

  • prepare for upper division university study and the attainment of a bachelor’s degree in related fields of study;
  • understand the structure of the criminal justice system and the functions of its main constituents: official agencies, 公民, and their elected representatives;
  • acquire the major communication skills required of most criminal justice practitioners including the development of effective written and oral communications consistent with the criminal justice field;
  • use knowledge of other cultures, 政治, 道德, and human rights to positively impact the community, 工作的地方, and the physical environment around us;
  • be provided with the resources to investigate careers within the criminal justice system;
  • and be prepared with skills necessary to enter the criminal justice workforce with specialized training in such areas as detention/corrections officer or emergency communications dispatcher.
